Research

Papers, research, and academic projects

This section separates publication-oriented work from hands-on university implementations, so academic output and engineering work are both clear.

Ball-on-Plate Control (DP + RL)

Implemented and compared model-based Dynamic Programming and Soft Actor-Critic control on a physical Ball-on-Plate platform, including live visual diagnostics.

  • DP planner selects waypoints for PID using an MDP with simulated transitions.
  • SAC policy directly commands plate tilt angles in closed loop.
  • Real-time overlays reveal value propagation and neural activations.
